It covers 50 square kilometers, with a water retention capacity of 900 million cubic meters and is an important component of the Pishihang Irrigation District.
There are many historical sites around the lake, including Longhekou, Meifudong cave, Diaoyutai island and the Tomb of Zhouyu, who was an official of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty (770-256 BC).
There also are many beautiful islands, stone forests and thermal springs that attract tourists.
