Chen Zifeng's 'Boundary' art

Artist Chen Zifeng's modernistic, abstract artworks, with theme of "Boundary," are currently on display in Beijing.

The artist explains how he seeks to explore the relationship among time, space and dimensions.

"Everyone has an internal cosmos, and the time and space inside us are just as mysterious and vast as the external dimensions of time and space," he said, "I create art to express my vision for super-organic abstract thinking."

Chen loves to develop his images with intentional cold and mechanistic styles, saying: "the final results will show the modern and futuristic space and aesthetics of the spiritual experience. They will achieve authenticity, materiality and virtuality at the same time."

Dr. Rasko Radovic, an academic advisor for the exhibition, said at the opening ceremony that the simple blue and white color combination in Chen's works, the precise use of colors and the glass-styled texture the artist creates in his works, along with the futuristic building structure designed by the artist, give spectators a surreal experience.

The curators of "Boundary" are Susan Wang and Rong Guang, and it is being sponsored by Onyx Gallery and Shang Ba International Center. The exhibition opened on Sept. 10 - 20 at Shang Ba Art Gallery, Yard 3, Xiadianjia in Chaoyang District, Beijing.
