Thailand eVisa for China and UK

(China Plus) Visiting Thailand's famous sights could become easier for British and Chinese citizens after the two countries were revealed to be eligible for an eVisa trial.

The eVisa will enable citizens to manage their Thai Visa application electronically, removing the need for a visit to an embassy in most cases.

Only four countries are initially included in the trial, with France and the UAE joining China and the UK.

The system will bring additional benefits for Chinese citizens.

At present, they can only stay in Thailand for 15 days without a Visa, whereas citizens from some other countries are able to stay for 30 days.

Under the eVisa system, all eligible applicants will be able to stay for 30 days without a Visa.

The Thai government has the following information about the new system:

Applying for a Thailand eVisa will be simple. The first step will be to complete the visa application form which will require applicants to enter a range of basic information such as their name, date of birth, passport details, and travel dates. There will also be some security-related questions.

To successfully apply, it will be necessary to meet the basic visa requirements. This will include having a passport from an eligible country, completing the form fully without any inaccuracies, and paying a fee using a credit or debit card.

After an application has been completed and approved, the eVisa will be sent to the applicant electronically.
