Ancient treasures exhibited in Suzhou


An exhibition of ancient study trea sures is being held in Suzhou Museum, east China's Jiangsu Province. There are a total of 84 items on display, including calligraphy, paintings, books, rubbings from stone inscriptions, bronze wares and other stationery from the Song (960-1279), Yuan (1271-1368), Ming (1368-1644), and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties.

These antiquities originally came from a famous Suzhou collector surnamed Gu and later were collected and stored up in nine nationwide institutions including the Palace Museum, National Library of China, Shanghai Museum, Nanjing Museum, Nanjing Library, Phoenix Publishing & Media Group (PPMG), Suzhou Library, Jiangsu Provincial Archives, and Changshu Museum.

A great variety of exhibits reflect the excellent study culture bred in south of the Yangtze River. As scheduled, the exhibition will last from December 13, 2016, to March 12, 2017.
