Swim at the beach
As a coastal city, Qingdao boasts many beaches including First & Second Beach, Shilaoren Beach, and Golden Beach. In summer, people from downtown Qingdao and neighboring cities come to enjoy the beautiful sunshine, gentle breeze and cool seawater.
Climb to the top of Mount Lao Mount
Mount Lao on the coast of the Yellow Sea is the highest peak along China's coast, and a great place to view the nearby city in a sea of clouds. Legend says Mount Lao was originally part of the sea, but was changed into a mountain over a long period of time.

Have a walk in the old district
The old district tells Qingdao's history. If you are interested in literature, you can visit the former residences of writers and scholars including Lao She, Liang Shiqiu and Tong Dizhou. If you want to relax, Daxue Road is home to Qingdao Art Museum and numerous cafes.
Watch a sailboat race
Since the 2008 Olympic Games, the Olympic Sailing Center in Qingdao has become a must-visit tourist destination. Every year, races of international or national scale are held here, making Qingdao a world capital of sailing.

Visit the international architectural complex in Badaguan Scenic Area
Badaguan Scenic Area is famous for its collection of international architecture. Besides buildings that look like they could be from around the world, its natural scenery includes a wide range of plants such as crape myrtles, maple trees and cedars.

Drink at the Qingdao International Beer Festival
The Qingdao International Beer Festival is an annual event, with this year's being held from July 29 for 16 days. Taste all kinds of beer from around the world while sampling local seafood and enjoy wonderful performances.

Entry: 10 yuan/person during the day and 20 yuan/person at night
Opening hours: 10:00 a.m. -3:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. -10:00 p.m.
