(CRI) A group of 16 people have become the first Chinese nationals to receive a new, multi-year visa for Israel.
The 10-year multiple-entry visa program between China and Israel took effect last week.
The first group includes actor Liu Ye and Tan Lihua, head of a Chinese art troupe for disabled people.
Israeli diplomats say the number of Chinese travellers to Israel is expected to increase by some 30 percent annually in the coming years.
Israel's flagship airline, El Al, has already begun hiring new Chinese staff in anticipation of its additional workload from China.
