Photos taken on Sept. 1, 2016 show a view of the so-called "soil forest" in Duzhuang Town of Datong County, north China's Shanxi Province. The "soil forest" refers to the landscape consisting of protrusive loess and grit sediment due to crustal movement as well as wind and water erosion.
