China bans more hazardous items on trains

(CRI) Railway authorities have revised the list of items that are banned on trains.

The updated directory has been enacted ahead of the travel peak of the coming Lunar New Year.

The items to be banned include kitchen knives, table knives, and hammers.

Liquid chemical cosmetics, with a volume of over 20ml, are not allowed to be taken on the train.

Passengers are allowed to carry up to two cigarette lighters and two small boxes of safety matches.

Most of passengers support the new regulation.

"I can understand, because it is not allowed to bring these tools of woodworking. I won't bring them in the future."

"I even don't take the nail scissors with me. The new regulation is acceptable, I think, because everyone's security can be guaranteed."

Passengers can consign their prohibited items. If they lack the time to handle the consignment, they can leave their contact information and pick up the items later.

Three billion trips are expected to be taken around the Lunar New Year, with the majority of them happening by train.

The peak travel period begins on January 24.
