The Miao is one of the 55 minority groups in China. The Miao ethnic groups mainly inhabit southwest China, including Guizhou, Yunnan, Hunan and Sichuan as well as Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
A majority of the Miao population can also be found in Southeast Asian countries like Laos, Vietnam and Thailand.
Their clothing is very distinctive in regard to the region they are from. Even different villages in the same region have their own unique styles. Miao people also wear various kinds of silver jewelry during festive occasions.
