Photographer captures Great Wall at night

China Photographers Association member Li Zongxian completed the series, The Great Wall in the Night, over a period of more than two years. The series has been exhibited in the 9th session of the Chinese Photographic Art Festival Exhibition. In his photographs, the Great Wall exudes its ancient power, standing through the vicissitudes of time.

Overhanging Great Wall, or Xuanbi Changcheng in Chinese, is located about 6.5 kilometers northwest of the famed Jiayuguan Fort. It was built as an extension of Jiayuguan Fortress and its original length used to be 1.5 kilometers, but a large part of the wall has been damaged with only 750 meters surviving up to date.

Lying five kilometers south of Shanhaiguan Pass in Qinhuangdao city in North China's Hebei province, Laolongtou Great Wall, or Old Dragon's Head, is the eastern starting point of the Ming Dynasty Great Wall. It extends about 20 meters into the Bohai Sea like a dragon drinking water

Deshengbao Fortress was one of the 52 fortresses built along the Datong Great Wall in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Deshengbao, which literally means "Victory Fort", was built one kilometer south of the pass connecting Datong and Inner Mongolia, a strategically important garrison town in the Ming Dynasty
