Travel Europe by Rail

Though the rail system in the US is almost extinct, riding the rails in Europe is still one of the main modes of transportation. In fact, European countries have upgraded many of their rail lines to offer passengers more options to get where they are going. Railway vacation packages do require at least a full week but they include roundtrip international airfare, hotel, hotel taxes and in most cases, breakfast each morning. There are several destinations to be enjoyed by rail. If you only have a week for your vacation, you can still enjoy more than one destination.

Fly into Heathrow Airport in London. Spend three nights exploring London and all it has to offer, board a train and head off to Paris. Spend another three nights in the city of lights before you board your flight back home at de Gaulle Airport. If you want to experience even more, try a three destination trip like Rome, Florence and Venice. Spend two nights in each magnificent city, riding the rails between each one. Can you imagine anything better than the Italian countryside by train?

If you are fortunate enough to have more time to spend exploring Europe, you can expand your vacation package to include even more of what Europe has to offer; such as, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Prague, Copenhagen, Brussels, Munich and more. Explore each city on your own or book sightseeing excursions to make the best out of the time you have.

No matter which way you decide to tour each city, getting there by rail will be an experience you will never forget. In Germany, Switzerland, France and Austria, the ICE will whisk you to your next destination at speeds up to 175 miles per hour with hardly any engine noise and pressurized cars so there is no ear discomfort. The ICE also has restaurant style dinning to make your adventure even more fun.
