The hotel is one of the most affordable and comfortable places to stay on the mountain, well maintained and has friendly and professional staff. Location & Getting There The easiest way to get to the Baiyun Hotel is to take the eastern cable car route (Yun Gu cable car) to the top of the mountain then hike around 1 kilometer down the main western trail. There are signs on the trail clearly marking the location of Baiyun Hotel so you will not have a problem finding it. Rates, bookings and availability Prices range from 150rmb which is the official room rate for dorm beds to over 1,600rmb for a triple room. Prices can vary from weekdays to weekends and from the peak season in summer to the low season in winter. If you are staying at a hotel or hostel in Huangshan City before going to Huangshan, ask your hotel to arrange a dorm bed for you. They should be able to negotiate a price of 80-100rmb. The hotel will normally only keep bookings until 6pm so make sure you check in before then or book with a credit card. Rooms & facilities Everything on Huangshan such as food, water and clean linen is carried up by porters so the hotel is very Spartan. There are shared toilets for the dorms which are reasonable but no showers. Private rooms do have showers with hot water. Heating in winter tends to be bad so the rooms are normally cold. The hotel has a 5 star (expensive) restaurant, internet access, a business center, conference room and a large lobby. Staff Baiyun Hotel is a large professionally run hotel with well trained and friendly staff. The lobby is staffed 24 hours a day and the staff will go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable.
