Spend Your Holiday in Shanghai, China

Shanghai is a port city and the largest city in China. One of the most impressive fact about Shanghai is that it is also a mega-metropolis and is considered to be one of the most largest cities in the world. This wonderful Chinese city is located in the eastern coast of China with over 20 million inhabitants, with a good percentage consisting of both local migrants and foreigners.

Shanghai is a great vacation spot for tourists who enjoy the city life and the traditional Chinese culture and there's nothing this city can't offer. From wonderful and quiet mornings at the park, afternoons at the numerous restaurants and cafes, to an energetic and lively nightlife, Shanghai won't disappoint, as it caters to vacationers who are either interested in the Westernized parts of the city or the intact traditional Shanghainese culture living amongst the young and hip neo-Chinese.

The most popular must-see tourist locations include the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Yu Yuan Gardens, Jade Buddha Temple, The Bund, Xin Tian Di, Shanghai Museum, Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, Nanjing Road, and ZhuJiaJiao, amongst others. Shanghai, like many cities in China have a great number of parks where the city folk can stop for a break and these awe-inspiring parks are always a breath of fresh air to wander about in. They are usually traditionally designed, but more than a handful of parks have fun activities and amenities that are open daily during the warm summer months (from May to August).

Shanghai's public transportation system is incredibly efficient, and there are buses linking all parts of the city to the center. The metro system is developing rapidly and recently, there are line routes that allows the public to travel from the outskirts to the CBD (Central Business District), Xujiahui. Tourists who enjoy subway travel and who have no Mandarin-language experience have absolutely nothing to worry about as the train signs and routes are carefully presented in both English and Mandarin.

One of the best things about Shanghai is the food! Although Shanghai's local cuisine is incredibly delicious, the city has no choice but to cater to the many migrants and foreigners who choose to live in the city. Thus, the options are vast and almost endless. Almost anyone from anywhere might be able to find their home cuisine available in this metropolis. Shopping in Shanghai is out of this world, with stores and boutiques ranging from local small businesses to large multinational chains.

Shanghai has two international airports and there are direct flights from and to most cities worldwide. So pack your bags, book your ticket and fly to this amazing city!
