China’s C919 passenger plane ready for maiden flight

(People's Daily) The C919 passengerplane, thefirstpassengerjetbuiltanddesignedbyChina, hascompletedmostoftheground-basedpre-flightevaluations, andisprojectedtoseeitsfirsttake-offbeforeJulyofthisyear. Theplanehascompletedtheinstallationofitson-boardsystemandpasseditsstaticandintegratedsystemtests. Thestatictestisdesignedtosimulateheavypressure-bearingsituationsandtestthelimitsoftheaircraftinsuchscenarios. Forthisreason, thetestisaprerequisitefortheplane'sdesigntobefinalized. Thetestresultsconfirmedpreliminaryanalysis--thattheframeworkofthejetlinerisstrongenoughtosupportfuturenavigation.
