(CRI) Taiwan Carrier China Airlines has been forced to cancel 67 flights departing from Taipei due to a strike by hundreds of flight attendants.
Spokesperson for the Flight Attendants Union Lin Hsin-yi says they are protesting against long working hours.
"We are protesting here to require our basic rights and respect. Most of our members in this union are female. What we want is not one or two US dollars of overtime compensation. We are not asking for a pay rise. We need to be treated with respect."
The cancellation of flights will affect more than 20-thousand passengers.
The airlines says it will work to help passengers rearrange their flights.
