Trash Collecting & China’s High Speed Bullet Trains

Last week I was in a hurry to get back to Changchun from Beijing and bought a standing only ticket on a high speed bullet train. Standing (sitting on the floor) in the door way of the train for seven hours gave me a first hand view of the cleaning staff and their trash collecting. Basically the cleaning staff go through the garbage collecting all the recyclables and every couple of hours squash and compact their loot on the floor in the floor on the walk way near the doors. So here you have one of the world's most advanced, sophisticated and efficient high speed trains with staff jumping up and down on their recycled trash in the passageways.
