Tourism revenue at $202b in 1st half

The National Tourism Administration of China said on July 11 that the total tourism revenue was 1.28 trillion yuan ($202 billion) in the first half of the year, up 17.3 percent, Xinhua News Agency reported. The number of people taking domestic trips hit 1.55 billion with a year-on-year increase of 14.6 percent. The revenue of domestic travels was 1.13 trillion yuan, up 20.1 percent year on year, according to Wang Zhifa, vice-director of the NTA. The number of inbound trips was 66.25 million. Chinese people made a total of 38 million overseas visits during the first half of the year, up 18 percent over the same period last year.
