Tulips

Although the Netherlands is the land of tulips, you will find bulbs given by this country to China in the 1970s at Beijing's Zhongshan Park. The best time to visit is April and May.


Canola flowers

Canola plants not only provide us with the world's major source of vegetable oil, but also stunning spring scenes, when fields of canola flowers transfer the landscape into a huge golden blanket. Canola flowers in Beijing bloom later than those in warmer southern cities, and the best time to view them is late April to early June.

Peach blossoms

Peach blossoms are highly appreciated in Chinese culture. It is believed that the peach possesses more vitality than any other tree because its blossoms appear before leaves sprout. The best time to enjoy peach blossoms in Beijing is from early April to early May.

Pear blossoms

Beautiful things are often fleeting. Pear blossoms always seem to bloom in profusion overnight and are soon washed away by the rain before people realize they are there. Anyway, you can catch them in full blossom sometime around mid-April.

Cherry blossoms

Although the cherry blossom is part of the Japanese culture, the delicate pink flowers are enjoyed in most cities around the world. The best time to enjoy cherry blossoms is late March to mid-April in Beijing.

Peony

Peony is the traditional flower symbol of China, and was formerly grown only for the Chinese emperor. The massive blooms are often associated with fortune, prosperity, and nobility. The best time to check them out is mid-April to late May.

Apricot blossoms

You probably know the fruits much better than the blossoms. When the sun shines, the white petal can form a stunning scene under Beijing's blue sky. The best time to enjoy apricot blossoms is April.

Crabapple blossoms

Crabapple blossoms usually appear from April to May, and the best place to be surrounded by bouquets of white crabapple blossoms in Beijing is often Yuan Dynasty City Wall Relics Park, which runs along a canal on the border of Haidian and Chaoyang. The best time to view them is early April to May.

Magnolias

Long-lived magnolia trees were loved by ancient Chinese royal families, and often planted in the temple. Tianzhe Temple is the best place to see the large fragrant flowers in Beijing during April and May.
